From the Desk on the Membership Chair - by Ray Garratt
It is now fall again and at last it has started to cool down. We had our normal summer tropical storms this year and the lakes are now back to normal water level. The Homosassa event organized by Robert & Mary Paul Williams was a great success and no boats were damaged. I think we are learning to follow the channel markers correctly. Over 30 people attended the event, the weather was perfect and the food cooked by Robert & Mary was delicious. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend.
Our Sunnyland snow birds are starting to flock back to Florida as it is that time of year again where it is getting a little too chilly up north! We welcome them back and we have kept the weather warm just for you.
The planning for next years ACBS Board Mtg. in Mount Dora (Feb 26) and the Picnic Cruise & Wine Tasting event (Feb 27) is now complete and you can find the Registration Form & Description of that event in this issue. This will be a fun weekend and we look forward to seeing you there. I also want to thank Riley & Judy Warddrip for again hosting the wine tasting event on there lovely grounds on Lake Carlton.
We were sorry to hear we lost another Sunnyland member to cancer this summer. Larry Chapman of Mount Dora passed away and our condolences go out to the family in this difficult time.
The membership renewals will be in your mail soon and I want to thank you for your past support of our chapter and look forward to your continued membership and enjoyment of our favorite hobby, namely antique and classic boating.
