The Sunnyland Chapter’s Harris Chain Picnic Lunch Cruise & Wine Tasting Gathering & the ACBS Board Meeting at The Lakeside Inn - February 26 – 27, 2010 – by Ray Garratt

Feb. 26th ACBS Board Meeting:

The ACBS Board Meeting will start around 8 am at the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora and Sunnyland Members can attend. At 12 noon lunch will be available in the lobby of The Lakeside Inn. From 5pm – 7pm a cash bar cocktail gathering will be held in the lobby. Reduced price Segway Tours and Therapeutic Massages are available for those not attending the meeting. The front desk clerk will give you a special card to obtain the reduced prices for these activities. Your registration form also has pre-booking information. Pre-booking dates are for Feb. 25 – 28 and is recommended.

Feb. 27th Picnic Cruises & Wine Tasting Event:

Picnic Cruise #1 to Nelson’s Fish Camp.

This cruise has an early picnic-lunch pick-up at. ~ 9.30am at Terry Tsocheff’s Dock at the start of the Deer Island causeway, south side of Lake Dora (last house before Deer Island). This lunch is for people boating to Nelson’s Fish Camp and back on the Ocklawaha River. Gerald Dake is the Cruise Captain for this cruise. (~ 5 hours total).

Picnic Cruise #2 Hide-Away canal cruise.

This cruise has a picnic-lunch pick-up at 11.30am at the docks at Gilbert Park, Mount Dora. This cruise will take you to Lake Beauclaire and into the Apopka/Beauclaire canal and branch off to the right to end up at the Hide-Away spot at the end of the canal. Bruce Kester will be the cruise captain for this cruise. This is a slow speed cruise; round trip will take about 1 hour plus picnic time.

Rides Needed:

The ACBS Directors and guests will need rides so please let us know if you have space on your boat. Thank you.

Three of the picnic lunches will have a ticket for a free bottle of wine, so check your bags!

The Wine Tasting Event:

Between 1:30pm & 2pm you will make your way over to Lake Carlton and dock or anchor your boat at Riley & Judy Warddrip’s home. You will tie up or anchor as directed by the dock masters. A shuttle boat will be available for the captains and passengers who need to disembark at Riley’s Dock.

The Warddrip’s dock is located on the south side of Lake Carlton. From Lake Beauclaire go through the cut on the west side of Trimble Park then angle right about 30 deg. to the other side of Lake Carlton (South Side).
